Discover the beauty of the Adriatic on a tour combining nature and culture!
This six-hour tour takes you west of Dubrovnik. The first stop along the scenic Adriatic coast is Trsteno, where a historical arboretum awaits. With its lush greenery, the arboretum is a perfect oasis for nature lovers, especially on warm summer days when it offers a cool retreat from the heat and crowds. It also boasts representative Dubrovnik summer residence architecture, which served as one of the most iconic backdrops in the popular Game of Thrones series.
After a stroll through the arboretum, your journey continues with a 40-minute drive to the medieval town of Ston. Here, you’ll discover some of Europe’s longest defensive walls, which you can climb for spectacular views. Ston is also home to the ancient saltworks, where salt has been continuously harvested since the Middle Ages.
The area is renowned for its culinary delights, particularly the famed Mali Ston oysters, which, along with other fresh seafood, have made this region one of Croatia’s true gastronomic gems. During the tour, you can enhance your experience with a unique fresh oyster tasting, available upon request and for an additional fee.
Mali Ston oysters are renowned as some of the finest in the world, with a history of cultivation dating back to Roman times. The unique mix of freshwater and seawater in the Mali Ston Bay creates perfect conditions for oyster farming, giving them a distinctive, delicate flavor. Every March, the Oyster Festival celebrates this local delicacy, drawing food lovers eager to taste these fresh, briny treasures straight from the sea.
